Art Therapist in McKinney TX

I have been in the mental health field since 1995 working with children, adolescents, and families.  I graduated from New York Institute in Boca Raton, Florida with an MPS in Human Relations and the ArtTherapy Institute in Dallas, Texas with certification in Art Therapy in 2006.

My experience in Sandplay Therapy began in 1995 while completing my play therapy hours and licensure hours in Florida.  Sandplay is one of the many processes used in Art Therapy for children, adolescents and adults.  This experience led to my specialty working as a crisis intervention therapist with abandoned, neglected and abused children and adolescents.  I also had a private practice working with non profit agencies and the State of Florida to complete Mental Health Behavioral Health Assessments to determine permanent placement of children who had been removed from their parents’ care.

My experience also includes providing group art therapy for adults in recover inpatient facilities for two years in Florida.  This experience was very rewarding and expanded my knowledge of working with adults.

My expertise also includes art and sandplay therapies, grief and loss issues, attachment and abandonment issues, behavioral problems and family dynamics.  I work with parents and children to improve parent/child communications.   Personal coaching as well as Solution Focused Therapy is available for adults in transition.

Since receiving my Texas license, I have worked as an art therapist with women in an eating disorder program and currently I am in private practice at CCA in McKinney, Texas with children, adolescents, and adults.
