BECKI HEIN
Individual Therapist In McKinney TX
Choosing therapy is an act of courage; we are not meant to do life alone.
We can experience peace and healing as we learn to connect with ourselves and others through evidence-based approaches. Understanding our strengths and growth areas helps us move toward wholeness. You are the expert in your life. I partner with you without judgment and with compassion to seek healing and reach your individual and relational goals.
Who am I and why might I be the right counselor for you?
I am a Colorado native. I love to travel and have lived and worked in Mexico, Spain, Japan, and South Africa. As a bilingual/biliterate counselor in Spanish/English, I consider myself a citizen of the world. With an MA in teaching Spanish, I have worked as a teacher for youth and adults, as well as a translator/interpreter, for more than 25 years. My students’ and clients’ difficulties and resilience have motivated and intrigued me as I learned from them and their stories. In fact, their experiences with loss, life transitions, challenging relationships, divorce, ADHD, trauma, eating disorders, abuse, depression, anxiety, and transience prompted me to change careers. I now serve as a counseling intern at CCA and will complete my MS in Clinical Mental Health from Texas A & M in August 2025 to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
My approach to therapy
My eclectic approach to healing and growth includes Person-Centered, Adlerian, Mindfulness, and Systems-Based theories. As such, I believe that the problem is the problem; the person is not the problem. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Narrative, Solutions’ Focused, and Family Systems are the different therapies I employ. I desire to help clients discover true congruence in their lives: finding wholeness and peace by aligning our outer world with our inner world.
I look forward to joining you in your life journey as we discover together.
