I strive to create a caring, compassionate, understanding, and supportive environment where you can feel safe and comfortable. I truly respect you and your inner resources and ability to move towards growth and wholeness. My goal is to help you draw on your hidden strengths while affirming your ability to grow.

I received my bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in 1987 from Baylor College of Dentistry, and worked as a dental hygienist for twenty-one years where I really enjoyed getting to know people’s stories, struggles, and joys. I made a career change in midlife and received my master’s of science degree in counseling from Southern Methodist University in 2016. During my practicum at SMU, I served as a counseling intern at Compass Hospice of Dallas. I counseled clients experiencing their last stages of life, and also helped their families through this process, including grief and bereavement.

I work with adults using an eclectic blend of techniques and tailor these to each individual client’s needs. The modalities I use include talk therapy-individual and group, expressive art therapy, and sandplay therapy (yes, for adults too). I lean toward person-centered, humanistic, and Jungian theories. I have worked with grief/loss, life transitions, relationship issues, chronic pain/illness, aging, and more. I find it is important to work towards a place of authenticity, so that one’s outer world lines up with one’s inner world, thus creating a whole individual.
It takes courage and strength to seek change, healing, and growth. I would be honored to be part of your healing journey. I look forward to what we can discover together.
