CARRIE WIGGINTON

I am a licensed clinical social worker who has a wide array of experience. I have provided in home services to children who were at risk for out of home placement at any time due to psychiatric hospitalization or removal by social services. I worked with the children and their families to secure a safe environment for them to return home to. I feel that this experience prepared me to deal with a wide array of issues that children face including depression,
anxiety, grief, maladaptive behavior, trauma related issues and attachment disorders. I understand their needs and use this knowledge to meet them where they are so that they and their families can make progress towards healing.

My experience also includes employment as a domestic violence counselor, a victim advocate and a child protection worker. I have provided clinical supervision and have been a clinical director over several offices.

I provide individual and family counseling services to adults, adolescents, and children. I hope to provide a safe and comfortable environment where you don’t feel judged and you can feel free to explore the thoughts and feelings which may be contributing to the ongoing issues in your life at the moment. I also hope that you will reach the end of your counseling experience feeling happy, satisfied and ready for what lies ahead.

I practice a variety of counseling approaches such as Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and Humanistic approaches. I am trained in EMDR. I believe that each client is different and will tailor my treatment approach and plan based on what the client’s needs are.
